Uncle Bryon Powell is a Wathaurung Elder and Chair of Wathaurung Corporation. Bryon has been involved in Native Title and Cultural Heritage issues for many years working as a Projects Officer with Wadawurrung in Ballarat. He is an advocate for Aboriginal cultural heritage recognition and equality and an educator of the wider community in Aboriginal issues.
Bryon is also a musician, ex roadie, with an interest in history and world traveller. He is a cultural observer, pilot, a proud father and a grandfather. He is the Grandson of Mabel Violet Robinson (born 1899 Purnim bush) and a Member of WAC since its inception in 1998 and a family representative since 1998.
