M~M2018 is an all-inclusive and family friendly event. M~M is an extreme arts walk across 80km held over two days and 11 stages. You can choose to walk sections or just visit the artwork installed at 12 stations along the route. If you plan on joining us at Geelong After Dark on the evening of 4 May from 5.30pm for a night of unexpected arts throughout central Geelong; you may be interested in participating in the Amazing Arts Adventure a feature of the program designed for families and children. There are some great prizes and surprising arts experiences to be had.
Where are you starting your walk?
If you are choosing to start at the You Yangs, you can park your vehicle in a dedicated carpark at the bottom of the mountain before taking a shuttle bus to the top to start your walk. You may like to join us for Gathering of the Elders Ceremony led by Wadawurrung Elders from 10.30am – 11.30am before the sculptural ‘Canoe’, carried by dedicated walkers will start the walk at 12noon.
Shuttle buses are available to take walkers back to their vehicles from each station. No matter how many stations you walk the buses will take you back to your starting point.
Whatever section you decide to walk we will have volunteers available, water at key points and important information in our registration pack including the M~M2018 Walker Survival Kit.
You may also want to experience two other ceremonies that will be part of M~M2018. Gathering of the City at Johnstone Park in central Geelong from 9.30pm Friday 4 May after the launch of Geelong After Dark; and Gathering of the Elements at the mouth of the Barwon River, Barwon Heads from 6pm Saturday 5 May.
