You are keen to join Geelong’s multi-award winning biennial extreme arts walk Mountain to Mouth, but it’s been a while since you donned your walking shoes and strode around your local community neighbourhood.
Need a plan, a schedule, a get fit walking program to get you started? The City of Greater Geelong’s Swim Sport and Leisure Department have created an 8-week walking program especially for you to get you motivated and moving toward Friday 4 May and Saturday 5 May 2018, helping you to choose your challenge and choose your distance.
You can get ready to walk from Big Rock at the granite mountains of the You Yangs to Barwon Heads at the mouth of the Barwon River.
Or, if you prefer, you can select to do as many stations as you feel comfortable. The Swim Sport and Leisure 8 week walking program will help you to make your choice.
Mountain to Mouth (M~M) is an 80 km journey of discovery. In the tradition of the Wadawurrung, M~M creates a contemporary songline across the Geelong and Queenscliffe regions. In 2018 the walk intersects with Geelong After Dark, a night of edgy artwork and performances.
The route is punctuated with edgy artworks commissioned for M~M, bringing people together through shared experiences of extreme arts that celebrate our land. In the tradition of Wadawurrung, M~M creates a contemporary songline across the Geelong and Queenscliffe regions.
So dust off your walking shoes and download the 8 week program, register now to take advantage of the Early Bird discount and join us to Walk this Land.
