- The incredibly diverse landscape that makes up City of Greater Geelong and the Bellarine, from the granite rocks of the You Yangs, through the industrial heartland of the City to the mouth of the Barwon River at Barwon Heads
- Site specific artwork that has been created as a reflection of the area in which it sits. Drysdale will feature potatoes and farming implements in a hands-on sound piece. Yes. A Potato as a musical instrument. That you can play!The spectacular lead ephemeral artwork Canoe, created by local Ocean Grove artist Kerrie Bedson in collaboration with US-based artists Leslie Pearson. It travels the 80kms from the You Yangs to Barwon Heads before it’s set alight, Viking-style, and sent out to sea on a purpose-built barge
- Ceremonies! There will be three – Gathering of the Elders at Big Rock, Gathering of the City in Johnstone Park and Gathering of the Elements at the Barwon Heads foreshore. Artistic Director Margie Mackay has collaborated with a number of celebrated Australian artists including Johnathan Welch (Choir of Hard Knocks)
- Celebrated Australian artists Jacob Boehme and 2016 Canoe co-creator Mahony Kiely.
- Mountain to Mouth intersects with Geelong After Dark, Friday night 4 May at 9:30pm. Central Geelong transforms into a wonderland of interactive and inspiring art for all ages along the laneways, on street corners and in our cultural facilities including the National Wool Museum, Geelong Gallery and the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre. See you after dark!
