This is one of the hardest stages of the Walk and not for the weak kneed. 8km on soft sand. There is no going back once you've started this part of the walk. 

It is a beautiful walk, passing by the historic Point Lonsdale Lighthouse, which was first lit in 1902. Take a very steep climb to the top of the dunes and then down onto the sands which are the home of the protected Hooded Plovers. Walk along the shores of Bass Strait, with pounding surf and high cliffs that will accompany you all the way to Ocean Grove.
