Banjo Ray

Artist: Glenn Romanis

Banjo Ray, the ninth walking circle, features the iconic Banjo Ray swimming through the seagrass of Swan Bay.

Swan Bay is an internationally important breeding ground for many of the local and migratory species of this region.

Through consultation with the Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre and the Queenscliff community, this large, temporary basalt installation is created to tell one of the many stories that make Swan Bay, Queenscliff and the Banjo Ray’s natural habitat such a beautiful, unique and important place.
