Grey Tree
Grey Tree invites and provokes people’s understanding of the environmental issues facing Geelong residents.
The artwork is a living narrative that employs the use of poetic visual metaphors and symbolic meanings. It encourages and explores use of our imagination to communicate ideas and thoughts that connect us with our natural world.
Grey Tree deals with the growing questions about our impact on the land, particularly concerning issues such as air pollution and acid rain.
A walking circle comprised of birds and nests placed along the pathway from the rail trail into the original planting area begun as part of M~M2014.
Birds and nests made in workshops with local residents are hidden in the shrubs for participants to discover as they follow the path of the walking circle. These artworks bring life to the area.
