Mountain to Mouth - Walking parts of the route

Wondering if you can walk part of the 80km extreme arts walk? Yes! you choose the distance; you choose the challenge when it comes to walking the land from Mountain to Mouth.

There are twelve song-line stations featuring different art at each station. The Walking Circles are celebrations of the local communities that call the local area home.

The theme of Mountain to Mouth 2018 is Earth, and what better way to experience the Earth but through walking the diverse landscape of the City of Greater Geelong and the Borough of Queenscliffe on the Bellarine.

You can walk between any of the twelve stations and you’ll experience the Geelong region in a completely different way. We can’t guarantee you’ll get your 10,000 steps up, but you’ll definitely get close!

If you are keen to discover Geelong’s industrial heritage, then the leg between Moorpanyal Park and the City is for you. Just over 4km, you’ll see the industrial heartland of Geelong.

Or, if you prefer to connect with the coastal heathlands of the Victorian Coastline as you make your way toward the ocean, then head to Point Lonsdale and walk 8km to Ocean Grove, before you head on in to Barwon Heads to see the finale of  Mountain to Mouth - the burning of the lead ephemeral artwork, Canoe.

There is so much to experience - and you can also indulge in the new fitness regime of plogging - picking up rubbish along the way. BYO bag!
