The City of Greater Geelong (“Council”) considers that the responsible handling of personal information is a key aspect of democratic governance, and is strongly committed to protecting an individual's right to privacy.

Council will comply with the Information Privacy Principles as set out in the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.

Human Rights

Human rights are entitlements that belong to everyone and the Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006 (“the Act”) was enacted to protect and promote human rights.

Council is committed to complying with the Act, and to ensuring that human rights are taken into account when developing policies, local laws, and also when making decisions.
